I can't get pictures to post right now but everything is going well here in GR.  We did all kinds of stuff today.  The boys weeded their hearts out and we turned in overgrown jungle into neatly maintained beds.  They did such a great job that we bought mulch to finish off the job.

We served rootbeer floats at Degage and handed out popsicles and bottled water to people in the Heartside neighborhood.  We worked at Kids Food Basket and Alpha Women's Center as well.  Everyone worked hard and somehow 45 kids got where they were supposed to be all day.  Hopefully someone more tech savvy than me can get photos up.

I'm tired.

Good night!

Night time bonding

Wonderful day connecting!

Today we spent the day at an amusement park. It was a wonderful time connecting and talking about the commitments students made to say "yes" to the things God is leading us to do. It was a powerful night.  We have a long and busy day of travel tomorrow. We weren't able to get to all of your comments due to our Internet connection, but really enjoyed the ones we did read!
After your students have a few days to recuperate :), I'd encourage you talk with them about the trip. They questions may prove helpful:
- what kind of work did you do? What was hard about it? What was fun?  What are some things you learned?
- what were the sessions like? What did you learn? What are some worship songs you sang? What was the biggest takeaway?
- Did you make new friends? What are some fun things you did to build relationships?
What are some things you feel like God is asking you to do back here in Grand Rapids?
God was so incredibly good and used both the things that went according to an and the surprises and trials to help us grow closer to Him! I'm excited to see how our students grow little by little!

Another great day!

Today we finished up a half day of work (until 12:30). We were able to start several projects for the home owners that other groups in the coming weeks will finish and complete a few. The kids prayed with several of the home owners after we finished. We spent the second part of the day at fort bardeau and received a tour of the place with information about the area. Tonight we have another seasion where students will have an opportunity to make different types of commitments for Jesus. Please be in prayer for that. There will be more pictures to follow. Tomorrow is our fee day and we have a special day of fun planned for the students. Pray that the relationships we've built with each other would be carries with us as we return home on Saturday. God has shown up in some incredible ways and I have truly been impress with our students maturity and perseverance! You would be so proud of them!

Tuesday Update

We're busy at the worksite today, continue to pray for us!

Our view at the worksite

Where we are staying is close to the top of.the mountainous area that's used for skiing in the winter. It's about 45 minutes to our worksite. Lots of twists and turns - so grateful for our wonderful drivers! It's been a mix of fog, some rain and bright sun. Continue to pray for great working conditions. God has been incredibly faithful.

Pray for Mary.

We are building a shed for Mary. She has lived here 9 years. Some of our girls talked with.her a bit. She is getting married in August. Continue to pray for opportunities to share our faith with her in the coming days.

One of the home owners,Donnie

Donnie has lived here two years. Sunday night his wheel chair got stuck in the mud. Pray for his family, his health, and opportunities this week for students to share their faith  in word and deed.
